DEVELOPMENT OF MYRIA

MYRIA first originated as an exercise of how to best properly handle a "sequel" to HAPPIA, should there be one. The idea soon developed into what will be intended to be an anthology series as opposed to HAPPIA's more solitary storyline, and to both interrogate and showcase the consequences that emerged from the predecessor's ending across a wide variety of differing perspectives. Hence, its name "MYRIA" is derived from "myriad", as in "a myriad of different views", or even its setting, "Myriad Worlds."

MYRIA is intended as the sole sequel to HAPPIA and to serve as its thematic complement. There will be no additional sequels or prequels to HAPPIA-MYRIA outside of these two. Any additional stories written officially or otherwise will belong in MYRIA as one of its many perspectives. Thus, "everything is canon, but not everything is true."

Moreover, MYRIA is intended to focus on fresh perspectives and new characters. Although they may remain infrequently mentioned, the stories of HAPPIA's protagonists are considered complete and finished, and will remain so for good, and MYRIA will not continue following them as central characters. They may however be referenced to in other (and often inaccurate and contradicting) contexts.
